Renee was introduced to barbershop in the year 2000 and has been singing in Sweet Adelines choruses and quartets since then, currently with Surround Sound Quartet. Her first performing experiences were as a child doing folk dances on stage and singing harmonies with her sister as they accompanied themselves on guitars.
She is excited to be part of this talented group of singers.
Julie Palagi - Lead
Singng pretty much her entire life, Julie credits a large part of her music education to her piano instructor, Mrs. Trudy Strauss, who taught her not only piano, but piano performance, music theory and a love of classical music. She began voice study in earnest in her late 30s with Dr. Juliana Hoch, director of Loveland Opera Theater. She attended graduate classes in vocal pedagogy at the University of Northern Colorado and taught voice professionally for 10 years.
Her barbershop experience started when she was in her 20s and her love of the close harmonies has sustained her throughout her life. It's a passion that includes directing two successful Sweet Adelines International choruses, including the Greeley Harmonix chorus, and singing in barbershop quartets. She is on the Sweet Adelines Region 8 education faculty where she coaches choruses and quartets, and teaches a variety of classes in vocal and rehearsal skills to other Sweet Adelines.
